Quentin’s practice focuses on appeals, civil litigation, and general corporate advisement.
Quentin is an experienced and well-regarded appellate practitioner. He has handled numerous cases in the Colorado Court of Appeals and Colorado Supreme Court involving constitutional questions, complex family law issues, real estate and property disputes, torts, commercial matters, Colorado Common Interest Ownership Act (CCIOA) disputes, and First Amendment issues. His writing combines precision with persuasive force—organizing complex arguments into clear, compelling narratives while maintaining a measured yet forceful tone. He is also an exceptionally effective and poised oral advocate, with experience arguing before both the Colorado Court of Appeals and Colorado Supreme Court. He has a track record of successfully handling high stakes appeals, making him a formidable advocate capable of delivering results in Colorado’s most demanding forums regardless of subject matter complexity.
Quentin is also a highly competent litigator and trial attorney. He has experience in all facets of litigation, from pre-lawsuit negotiation, pleadings, discovery, dispositive motions, and trial. He has extensive experience helping clients resolve (and litigate, when necessary) complex probate disputes; property and easement disputes; quiet title actions and zoning lawsuits; claims under the Colorado Governmental Immunity Act (CGIA) and Colorado Construction Defect Action Reform Act (CDARA); mechanic’s liens; commercial disputes; landlord-tenant issues, and CCIOA disputes. Quentin takes pride in achieving efficient and successful results for his clients in all phases of litigation and can tackle the most complicated issues that may arise in your case.
In addition to his appellate and litigation practice, Quentin also advises a variety of business and non-profit entities in all facets of corporate governance. He has extensive experience reviewing and drafting residential and commercial leases; contracts involving real property (e.g., easements, purchase and sale agreements, etc.); instruments formalizing business relationships; and general corporate governance matters. He is also familiar with the land use code and its attendant processes, particularly in Pitkin, Garfield, and Eagle Counties, and in Glenwood Springs, Carbondale, the Town of Eagle, Rifle, and Grand Junction. Regardless of the subject matter, Quentin seeks to first understand his clients’ goals and provide them with guidance that helps them achieve those goals.
Before joining JVAM, Quentin clerked for the Honorable Judge Fox on the Colorado Court of Appeals. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Colorado Law School, where he served as the Editor-in-Chief of Volume 92 of the University of Colorado Law Review.
Outside of work, Quentin likes to mountain bike, golf, cook, and spend as much time as he can with his wife and young children.
