Practice Areas:
Tag is a litigation specialist with a primary focus on real property and construction law. Within these disciplines, he handles a broad range of matters, including property and easement disputes, quiet title actions, state and municipal zoning issues, claims under the Colorado Construction Defect Action Reform Act (CDARA), mechanic’s liens, and forcible entry and detainer cases.
Tag approaches each matter with the goal of maximizing value for his clients. He does this by carefully evaluating the strength of the evidence relative to the claims and making informed assessments about potential outcomes, always weighing risks against rewards. While litigation is sometimes unavoidable, Tag prioritizes practical, strategic resolutions and works to avoid unnecessary litigation whenever possible.
He is equally skilled in negotiating favorable settlements and, when necessary, advocating for his clients in court. Before joining JVAM, Tag served as a Deputy District Attorney for the City and County of Denver, including in the Organized Crime Unit. He brings with him extensive trial experience, having tried nearly thirty jury cases—ranging from traffic and DUI offenses to first-degree murder. On a case-by-case basis, he continues to accept select criminal defense matters.
