Jessica Karikas is a passionate and detail-oriented legal professional with a foundation in both environmental science and law. Originally from St. Petersburg, Florida, she earned her undergraduate degree in Environmental Science and Political Science from the University of South Florida. While her early academic interests centered around biology and conservation, Jessica discovered a deeper calling—advocating for people and communities—which ultimately led her to pursue a career in law.
She earned her Juris Doctor from the Charleston School of Law, where she combined her environmental background with a growing commitment to social justice and legal service. Jessica began her legal career in class action litigation as a document review attorney, later gaining experience in contract drafting and legal editing at Nichols Legal. She has since joined JVAM, where she continues to grow her legal practice with the same energy and integrity that have shaped her journey thus far.
Jessica’s connection to Grand County, Colorado began in childhood through annual family vacations. Drawn to the area’s natural beauty and sense of community, she made it her permanent home after law school.
When she’s not practicing law, Jessica enjoys an active lifestyle that includes paddle boarding, hiking, skiing, yoga, and staying fit at the gym. She’s also likes to read and shares her Colorado adventures with her energetic Australian Shepherd, Archie.
