Ben specializes in litigation, appeals, and administrative law, drawing on a rich background in legal practice and government.

Prior to joining JVAM, Ben served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Alaska, focusing on natural resources litigation and regulation primarily at the federal level. He also clerked for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and has extensive experience in civil litigation and prosecution in Colorado. Ben earned an LL.M. in Natural Resources & Environmental Law from the University of Denver and a J.D. from the University of Kentucky, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Kentucky Law Journal.

Before embarking on his legal career, Ben worked as an economist at J.P. Morgan’s Private Bank, advising high-net-worth clients on macroeconomic investment
opportunities. Ben had previously applied this same expertise in government, where he served as a junior economist at The White House and in the United States Senate for several years. Ben remains actively engaged in public policy concerning natural resources and environmental issues.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Ben enjoys spending time with his family and indulges his passion for the outdoors, whether hiking, pursuing elk, or fly fishing.
