Winter PArk Water Rights Attorneys

In Winter Park and Fraser, water access is tightly regulated — and increasingly competitive. Colorado’s system of prior appropriation means water rights aren’t automatically tied to land ownership. Instead, the right to use water depends on when the right was established and for what purpose. In high-altitude regions like Grand County, where streamflow is heavily influenced by snowpack and seasonal variability, having secure, senior rights is critical. That’s why landowners, developers, and businesses rely on experienced Winter Park water rights attorneys to protect and manage their access to this essential resource.

JVAM works with clients throughout the Fraser Valley, advising on well permits, ditch agreements, water court filings, and real estate transactions involving water rights. Our attorneys have deep experience in Division 5 Water Court and understand how water availability, topography, and competing claims affect water users in the headwaters of the Colorado River.

Whether you’re developing a mountain property, maintaining agricultural operations, or purchasing land near the Fraser River, we’ll help you understand your options, avoid legal pitfalls, and secure the water rights your project depends on.

Fraser & Winter Park Water Rights Services Include

  • Preparing and prosecuting applications for new water rights, changes of use, and augmentation plans
